3. Using the App

Searching for Restaurants

Open the Search tab and type a restaurant name, cuisine type, or keyword. Adjust the distance filter (1mi, 3mi, 5mi, etc.) to refine results. Tap any restaurant to view details including ratings, hours, and location.

Managing Your Bucket List

To add a restaurant to your bucket list, search for or view a restaurant and tap the "Add to Bucket List" button (bookmark icon). The restaurant will be saved to your Bucket List tab where you can view and manage all saved restaurants.

Proximity Alerts

DinnaFind can notify you when you're near restaurants on your bucket list using geofencing technology. To enable this feature:

  • Add restaurants to your bucket list
  • Enable location permissions (set to "Always" for background alerts)
  • Enable notifications when prompted

You will receive alerts when within range of saved restaurants, even when the app is closed.

4. Location Services

DinnaFind uses your location to find restaurants near you, calculate distances to venues, and send proximity alerts for bucket list restaurants. Location data is used in real-time and is not stored permanently on our servers.

To manage location permissions on iOS, go to Settings → Privacy → Location Services → DinnaFind. You can choose:

  • Never: Location features will be disabled
  • While Using: Location used only when app is open
  • Always: Enables background proximity alerts

5. Privacy and Data

DinnaFind collects minimal data necessary to provide the service:

  • Account Information: Email and name (from OAuth providers)
  • Location Data: Used for restaurant search (not stored permanently)
  • Bucket List Data: Restaurants you save
  • Usage Data: App crashes and errors (to improve stability)

We do not collect contact lists, photos, browsing history, or advertising identifiers. For complete details, see our Privacy Policy.
